Benjamin Franklinstein was my second musical, the result of a long collaboration between my co-author of the books, Larry Tuxbury, and Russell Sage musical theatre professor Michael Musial. It explores the intersection of science and fantasy in the life of Benjamin Franklin, and takes its genesis from an idea that Franklin himself proposed: what would happen if one of the 18th century’s greatest minds preserved himself in suspended animation, then awakened in the 21st century to find a world much different than the one he left?

I couldn’t be more happy with the way this strange, funny musical turned out. Everyone involved, from the actors to the designers to musicians to the stage crew pulled together to bring this to life in a way I never dreamed possible.
